If getting up is a problem for your furry friend do this now!
—
Let us not allow painful, inflamed and stiff joints become our pet’s “life sentence”.
Here is how to start the day right!
Part 3 – April 15, 2025
Dear AsiaPaws friend,
Osteoarthritis is a common problem for aging pets but even young “furry spring chickens” with genetic joint problems suffer from it – silently!
When aching joints stiffen up overnight, the best start of the day is
STRETCHING & WARMING UP!
—
Start the day with 10 glorious minutes to help your painful osteoarthritic furkid:
1. Start by applying a warm towel, a water bottle or red light for 5 minutes focusing on your furkids lower back and hip area.
Warmth directs better blood flow into these stiff and achy body parts and supports oxygen supply and removal of lactic acid which causes muscles to stiffen up.
2. Step two – gently roll your pet’s loose skin between your fingers. Focus on your pet’s back and hips –do this for 3 to 5 minutes.
This gentle manual treatment is of tremendous help as it loosens up skin muscles and connecting tissues. Your pet will immediately move with more ease.
3. Lastly, move your pet’s limbs by gently stretching and flexing all joints of each limb.
This is called “passive range of motion” (PROM) movement. Check out our attached VIDEO how to do this without the risk of hurting your furkid. One to two minutes for each limb makes for 5-10 minutes of a glorious new, happy day for your furkid!

Next week I will summarize all the help that costs you nothing but provides your arthritic pet with a new quality of life that no drug can compete with!
It is my pleasure to help you help your pet!
By the way, Happy Easter weekend ahead if you celebrate it!
I, for one, always enjoy this very German spring holiday and will take a brief break to recalibrate, and focus on my own furry family from Easter Saturday to Easter Monday 😊
Catch you next week again!
Best wishes, Dr Susanna
