In Austria, Germany, and Switzerland we celebrate an early gift-giving tradition on the evening of December 5th and the morning of December 6th 😊
In Malaysia we may lack a wintery “Advents Time” and snowy “Christkindl Markets” but we “pawparents” definitely celebrate the year-end holidays with gift-giving to our furkids!
I feel it’s pointless to have a list of sponsored pet items to entice pet parents.
I am no fan of marketing gimmicks that benefit only one side – companies that sell.
Instead, here are my thoughts on giving our pets a ‘holistic gift giving experience’!

The Best Gift is Giving from Your Heart
As we celebrate the season of giving, let’s remember that the most precious gift we can offer is from the heart.
This means taking a quiet moment to think about what our pet loves and craves
—something they don’t get often, but would bring them so much joy.
Perhaps it’s an orthopaedic bed for a dog with osteoarthritis, an electric heating pad for rainy days to keep our older cat relaxed, or a special toy or “licky mat” that can be filled with delectable treats to keep our pets entertained while we are away.
“The greatest gift you can give someone is your time and attention.”
Sometimes, the most meaningful gift isn’t something you can buy.
Your pet might not need a store-bought item, but rather your undivided attention.
Start by carving out a few extra moments in your day to dedicate to them—whether it’s cuddling, playing, or simply being present.
It’s a gift that costs nothing but is worth everything.
Why wait? Begin today, or tomorrow, and make “gift-giving” a cherished daily habit.
“The smallest gift can make the biggest impact.”
It’s a running joke that cats often prefer the packaging box over the shiny, expensive cat tree it came in.
And how many dogs get thrilled with a simple stick or pinecone from their walk?
The best gifts for our pets are not always the priciest or the most elaborate—they’re the little things that make them feel loved and special.

So, what’s in my “Nikolaus bag” today,
what will be under the Christmas tree on the 24th for my pets?
(Yes, in continental Europe, we celebrate Christmas and give presents on the eve of December 24, unlike our English & American friends)
Psst – it’s going to be a surprise! 😊
• Catnip sticks for three of my cats who love to chew on them
• Air-dried lung sticks for all to enjoy
• Ping pong balls for the cat room
• An AirTag for my “special-abled cat” (more of a gift for my peace of mind)
• Cream cheese on a licky mat and dried meat cubes on the snuffle mat for ‘entertainment galore’
• A new orthopaedic dog mattress for Ruby’s travels between Kuala Lumpur and Penang
And for all of them, my “gifts for a happy healthy life” are sets of Homeopathic Remedies easing misfortunes immediately and safely!

Cherished gifts are based on promises of love, comfort, and care, all year long.
It’s not about the size or price of the gift, but the intention behind it.
Here’s to celebrating life and love, in every season, for our furry friends!
