Did you know that your pet’s outside health (skin, fur, ears) is 100% based on
and a result of a healthy gut?
1. The “gut” is a tube-like internal organ.
It connects the stomach with the anus and it is located in the belly.
The length of the gut is shortest in carnivores like our cats and dogs, longest (relatively) in plant-eaters like guinea pigs, rabbits and horses and “medium long” in humans. The gut length is related to the food we are supposed to eat and which diet is most suitable.
2. Contrary to humans, our pets start digesting food in the stomach, not in the mouth!
That’s why strong stomach acids are so very important for a healthy digestive system in our pets.
3. The gut “tube” (small and large intestine) is lined with very special cells that form a ‘fence’ between the outside world (food) and the inside of the body (blood and organs). If the gut lining cells are not healthy, unsuitable stuff enters the body which causes havoc in liver, kidney, skin and immune system.
4. The end part of the gut, the large intestine or “colon”, is home of all good bacteria, called the microbiome.
5. The gut is the “HQ” of the body’s immune system
Even if only one of the gut parts is unwell, skin, ear, liver, kidney, allergy and emotional problems will follow!
Medicines to patch up GI symptoms are simply “switching off the body’s warning lights”. Similarly to a car mechanic ignoring (or taping over) a car’s warning lights, the consequences will be shocking.
Become EMPOWERED and be your pet’s HEALTH ADVOCATE,
instead of letting your “car mechanic” fool you 😊
